Xplorer

Xplorer is a family-friendly outdoor navigation game created by British Orienteering. Designed especially for children and families, it introduces young people to the basics of orienteering through fun challenges that encourage them to explore parks and open spaces, find markers and answer simple questions along the way.

The activity is completely free to take part in and provides a fun way for families to enjoy time together outdoors during the summer holidays.

Active Maldon is the Council’s health and wellbeing programme, helping residents become more active and make use of local parks, open spaces and community facilities. Through projects such as Xplorer, the programme aims to encourage healthy lifestyles and make physical activity accessible to people of all ages.

To help residents learn more about the project, the Council will be running a weekly engagement stand in Promenade Park every Wednesday during the school summer holidays from 10am to 4pm. Visitors will be able to meet the team, find out how Xplorer works and discover other opportunities to get active in the district. The team will also be coming to Riverside Park, with dates to be announced soon.
