The Maldon District’s parks are great places to play, get close to nature and make memories that last a lifetime. With interactive trails, splash parks and play areas plus plenty of open spaces, they are perfect for creating a magical escape for the whole family. Village parks often have exciting play sites, and even outdoor gym equipment.

Promenade Park

Welcome to Promenade Park in Maldon, the largest waterside park in Essex, providing a fun-filled, family friendly destination all year round with amazing events and activities throughout the year. Nestled between the historic high street and Blackwater Estuary, the park features a water Splash Park, beach huts and deckchairs for hire, sandpits, galleon play ship and aerial zip-wire, model boating and crabbing lake as well as cafe kiosks and picnic areas. There’s a packed programme of events and activities planned each year, or just come and enjoy the peaceful walks and beautiful sea views. 

Nature Reserves

The Maldon District currently has at least ten Nature Reserves located across our countryside and coastline, including the Dengie National Nature Reserve and Blackwater Estuary National Nature Reserves.
