The many cafés, tea rooms, coffee houses and alfresco dining options are also popular with motorcyclists and visitors. From high street locations set alongside the artisan shops of Maldon and Burnham-on-Crouch, to waterside tea rooms providing views across (and on) the waves!
With such a long and beautiful coastline, there are many opportunities to experience stunning views while eating and drinking in the District. Osea Island, Tollesbury, Hythe Quay and the Crouch Estuary are just some of the wonderful locations where you can enjoy a bite to eat!

Some attribute it to our unique micro-climate while others to the passion of local farmers and food producers. Whatever the reason, the Maldon District is proud of its gastro menu. The Maldon District boasts several award winning breweries and vineyards. There are plenty of opportunities to try local ales and wines in the many scenic public houses across the District including two micro-pubs in Maldon. Tours of the breweries and vineyards are available, and throughout the year there are various events which make for great days out.
