Things to do on a rainy day

We can all sympathise with the infamous British weather; one day it’s scorching hot and the next day it’s pouring with rain. Fortunately for you, and us, the Maldon District has plenty of things to do to keep the whole family entertained come rain or shine!

The Maldon District is steeped in history; with museums, ruins, and lots of historic vessels including the iconic Thames Sailing Barge – all waiting to be explored. So whether you’re interested in military, transport, power and industry, or local and social history, the History and Heritage of the Maldon District covers all areas.

For the art lovers among you, explore the work of talented local artists at a local art gallery and find the next masterpiece to adorn your home collection as a memento of your trip to the Essex Coast.

Enjoy a time out and opportunity for your littles ones to blow off some steam in our fantastic indoor soft play centres. Featuring lots of fun and exciting slides, mazes and activities to enjoy, this will certainly keep the kids entertained for hours.
