Named after birds found in the local area, the Beach Huts are close to the popular Splash Park and Valley Play Area as well as being a short walk to the town of Maldon.

J&C’s Party Pets Ltd trading as Maldon Promenade Petting Zoo will be managing the beach huts for this season.

The beach huts can be hired for the day and are inspected and cleaned each morning prior to the booking to ensure that they are ready for your arrival.

How many beach huts are there?

There are eight beach huts to choose from, including two with step-free access. They are Kingfisher (Yellow and green with step-free access), Oyster Catcher (Pink and blue), Cormorant (Green and pink), Moorhen (Blue and yellow), Mallard (Yellow and blue), Avocet (Pink and green), Egret (Green and yellow), and Swan (Blue and pink with step-free access).

How can I book? 

Please use the booking app on this page - pick a date (any greyed out dates mean that the huts are already hired, making that day unavailable) then if there are any free huts - the system will show which ones are available. 

How do I get into the beach hut on arrival?

On arrival, go to Maldon Promenade Petting Zoo where you can collect your keys for your hut. Please ensure that your keys are returned to the zoo on leaving at the end of your booking.

Can I change or cancel my booking? 

Once booked we are unable to offer refunds or changes to your booking. In the event of severe weather or damage from a previous hire which has resulted in us having to close, we will contact you to find an alternative date that suits you or will refund you.

What is included in the Beach Hut?

Each beach hut is fitted with electric sockets, a secure cupboard and comes with 4 deck chairs . If you would like to order additional deck chairs, please contact https://www.thedeckchairhut.co.uk/

Maldon Promeande Petting Zoo also offer a picnic platter for beach hut customers. Costing just £59.99, the platter includes a selection of sandwiches, crisps, chocolates,fruit, and canned drinks of your choice or bottled water. The picnic platter must be ordered at least 72 hours before your booking by calling 07930243225 , as this ensures that the order can be processed in time. A £20 non-refundable deposit is payable on ordering, the remainging £39.99 can be paid on collection of your keys from Maldon Promenade Petting Zoo.

Maldon Promenade Petting Zoo also offer a concierge service to customers who spend over £10 at the Bullfrog Snack Bar which includes having your food and drink order delivered to your hut for just £1.50. Orders can be placed by texting 07930243225 and payments can be made over the phone or in person, payment is by card only. 

Where can I park? 

Pay and Display parking (which includes disabled parking) is available in Promenade Park. Details for these can be found at Parking - Visit Maldon (visitmaldondistrict.co.uk)

Are there toilets on site? 

Yes, there are public toilets (including disabled access toilets) located next to the Splash Park by the Petting Zoo. 

What is your clothing policy? 

Due to the proximity of the children's play area and Splash Park, we kindly ask visitors to avoid wearing any offensive or upsetting items of clothing.

Can I take photos? 

Yes, you can take photos of your friends and family. If you see someone taking photos who you suspect is behaving inappropriately, please speak to a member of staff. 

Can I bring my dog / pet? 

Dogs and pets are not allowed within the fenced area of the Valley Play Area, Splash Park and Beach Huts at any time, except for assistance dogs.

​​​​​Are the Beach Huts accessible for those with disabilities? 

Yes, the Beach Huts at either end have step-free access. 

A Changing Places facility is available in the park which includes a hoist, a RADAR key is required if you wish to use this facility.

What is the capacity of a Beach Hut?

Each Beach Hut has a maximum capacity of six people (including babies and children).

Can I take food or drink into the Beach Hut? 

Yes, please ensure that you do not leave any rubbish in the Beach Hut on departure. 

Are there Tea/Coffee making facilities? 

A kettle is provided, but you will need to bring cups and tea/coffee etc. Electric sockets are in each hut for your convenience.
