Posada poster

About

Las Posadas is an important Christmas tradition in Mexico. The word "posada" means "inn" in Spanish and the traditional celebration involves re-enacting the Bible story of Mary and Joseph's journey to Bethelem and difficulty in finding somewhere to stay.

This year, there will be an open air carol service at All Saints' Church where families are invited to bring LED lanterns or candles, sing carols, and wear bright colours!

Leading up to Christmas a “travelling Nativity set” will be placed in High Street shops, reminding the town of this new event, which replaces the traditional Town Carol Service. Instead of singing carols behind closed doors, everyone is invited to sing them joyfully through the streets of the town under the Christmas lights.
