This is a B&B like no other! A former Methodist Chapel situated in a quiet residential area within a short walk from the railway station, shops, restaurants and all the amenities on the quayside of the glorious river Crouch.Each of the three en-suite rooms are clean and tastefully decorated, with a king-sized comfortable bed (which can be converted into twin beds), a powerful shower, tea and coffee making facilities, free wi-fi and a Freeview HD television. The TV has a USB socket if you wish to bring your own videos etc.
The B&B rooms are off an internal balcony that overlooks the working studio of your host, the Japanese artist Akiko Fujikawa and houses many works by the artist Geoffrey Wickham. Akiko specializes in making and teaching others to make traditional Japanese woodblock prints and calligraphy, the entire house being filled with inspirational paintings, prints and sculptures. Breakfast is taken in the conservatory which looks out onto the garden with its Japanese style koi carp pond. You can enjoy an excellent full English or continental breakfast while listening to the gentle sounds of the waterfall in this secluded area – a perfectly relaxing way to start your day.
All special dietary needs can be catered for (please let us know at the time of booking) and everything will be done to ensure your stay is as pleasantly relaxing as possible.
