Founded in 1957, the Maldon Society aims to promote and preserve the historical heritage of this town and its surrounding area by encouraging civic pride in the area nd promoting co-operation with other organisations. We hold monthly talks on local buildings, people and events. These are open to the public as well as members with the intention of promoting an appreciation of our heritage as widely as possible.
March talk - The Story behind Maldon's Combined Military Services Museum. Julie Miller will discuss the history of the Museum, from founder Richard Wooldridge's childhood fascination with militaria, to the world class collection held at the museum today.
April talk - A talk by Leanne Campbell on Project 600 -The Moot Hall, at the centre of Maldon life for 600 years
May talk - Annual General Meeting and presentation of digital and oral history archives
June talk - Wildlife of Maldon by John Buchanan
July talk - The Great 1953 Storm Revisited by Adrian Wright
