About
This is a rare opportunity to walk what is one of the loneliest stretches of the England Coast Path in East Anglia. Enjoy the wide expanses of sea, sky and farmland as you walk the seawall between Bradwell and Tillingham, returning by bus to the start. Walk Highlight: Visit one of the oldest places of Christian worship in the British Isles – St Peter’s Chapel (AD 654) near Bradwell. This is a challenging walk of nearly 10 miles.
The walk includes an optional lunch at the beautifully secluded Othona Community near St Peter's Chapel. The cost for this is £7 per person - includes soup bread, salad tea and cake - special dietary needs should contact us or confirm when booking.
The Saltmarsh Coast Walking Festival is a 10-day festival, designed to help visitors and locals enjoy the Maldon District's rich tapestry of history and heritage along its 75 miles of coastline. The event will provide led and self-guided walks to suit everyone, from family-friendly short strolls to longer walks for walking enthusiasts. Walks will start from a number of "hives" around the district, including Maldon, Heybridge Basin, Tollesbury, Goldhanger, Burnham-on-Crouch, Bradwell-on-Sea and North Fambridge. Plus, in the evenings there will be a programme of talks and entertainment.
