This site is part of a large network of nature reserves that make up the Danbury Ridge Complex. Woodham Walter Common is mainly secondary woodland with a few open areas where heather grows. There is a network of paths with good links to Danbury, Woodham Walter and Little Baddow. There are numerous pedestrian access points including Common Lane, Green Lane and Twitty Fee Lane. However, the nearest parking is in Runsell Lane, Danbury.
