Hoe Mill Lock Camping Site Sign

About

Hoe Mill Lock is an active set of locks and gates serving the River Chelmer between the County Town of Chelmsford, and historic maritime town of Maldon.

Hoe Mill Lock is best known for its campsite and makes an excellent base for canoeing the River Chelmer, or walk a mile or so along the towpath and hop on a trip boat at Paper Mill Lock, or treat yourself to a cream tea. There’s plenty to see and do along the wonderful riverside.

The site is a Camping and Caravanning Club Certificated Site, and you can bring your caravan, motorhome, trailer-tent, or tents. Membership of the Club is required, but you can join at the site on arrival.

The site is open between Easter and November.

For bookings please contact Laura Ellis, residential caretaker at Hoe Mill by telephoning 07367 346045.
