Field Mouse on wheat in coloured pencil

About

Local artist Lisa Gulleford will display her "Wonder of Nature" exhibition in Maldon over the next few weeks.

Lisa grew up in Maldon having lived in Heybridge Basin throughout her childhood, where her love of art and nature began. In this exhibition, she's exploring working with vibrant coloured pencils, pens, and acrylic paints. She wants to emphasise the beautiful colours we see in nature, seeking to create pieces that capture how she sees animals. To try and represent the wonder she feels when she looks at these amazing creatures through her artwork. To her they're captivating and there is a sense of magic to all of them, from the tiny field mouse to the imposing bear.

If you'd like to see her work the exhibition will be at the Maeldune Centre in Maldon High Street from the 18th of April to the 4th of May. The Maeldune Centre is open between 11am and 4pm, from Tuesday to Saturday.

Lisa runs her own company creating bespoke artworks and gifts called Kaliste Creations, you can find out more on her Instagram and Facebook pages @KalisteCreations. You can also find her work in the new gift shop at the Museum of Power, Langford which shows work from local artists and suppliers.
