About

Chris Lewis is an ex-paratrooper who walked around the entire UK coastline, including its islands, for six years. He started his journey in 2017 with only £10, a broken tent and a pair of shoes that didn’t fit. He faced many challenges and hardships along the way, such as hunger, cold, injury, isolation and homelessness. Along the way he adopted a dog, Jet, who became his loyal companion and they both spent Covid lockdown on an uninhabited Scottish island.

His goal was to raise money for SSAFA, the veteran’s charity that had helped him after leaving the paras, and to rediscover his lost sense of self. He became the first person to ever complete this challenge, covering nearly 20,000 miles and raising £500,000 for his cause. He also gained thousands of online followers and met his girlfriend, Kate Barron, who joined him on his journey. Chris is passionate about sharing his inspiring story and helping others who struggle with mental health issues.
