About

The Mayor of Maldon, Cllr Andrew Lay, is pleased to announce that nominations are now being sought for Maldon Town’s Community Awards 2024.  Nominate your shining star, a person of any age, who you think deserves an award perhaps for a single act of kindness, a long-lasting battle against the odds, or for their inspirational community work.

Nominations are sought in the following categories;

Art, Culture & Heritage Award;

Best Business Contribution to the Community;

Carer of the Year;

Citizen of the Year;

Community Impact Award;

Educator of the Year;

Long Service Volunteer Award;

Sporting Volunteer Award;

Young Achiever of the Year;

and the Town Mayors award for Community Service

These awards recognise the efforts of individuals or groups who contribute to the town of Maldon and for the enormous amount of work and voluntary assistance that is undertaken within our Community.  Individuals, groups, charities, sports & social clubs, community associations, associations supporting people with disabilities, churches, schools, youth organisations, etc, are all eligible.

The Town Mayor and Council representatives will meet to consider all nominations and choose worthy ambassadors for the Town whose contribution to Maldon improves life for residents and visitors, and whose commitment is outstanding.  A presentation evening will be held on Monday 22nd April at the Town Hall, to which everyone is invited.

The deadline for nominations is 15th March 2024. Nomination forms are available on the Town Council’s website www.maldontowncouncil.gov.uk/community-awards, from Maldon Town Hall on Market Hill, by calling 01621 857373, or email administration@maldontowncouncil.gov.uk.
