About

CLOSED  FOR FESTIVE PERIOD, NO MARKET ON 28 December and 4 January

The historic town centre of Maldon has had a street market since medieval times, and the tradition is rejuvenated with the launch of a new outdoor market.

From 12 October, Suffolk Market Events will be running a new and exciting market in Butt Lane car park on Thursday mornings, featuring artisan, locally grown and handmade produce. There will be fresh organic lamb and beef as well as sausages, chorizo and scotch eggs. Plenty of fresh organic local vegetables as well as herbs and plants. Look out for the fresh fish van plus fresh ground coffee as barista coffee to enjoy while you are shopping. There’s local craft ales plus a wonderful range of homemade pies and pasties and cheeses from East Anglia and beyond.

For those with a sweeter tooth there are stalls with fresh bakes and cakes, brownies as well as chocolate bars.

There’s plenty of crafts and arts with local photography, crystals, block print home accessories, ladies fashion, jewellery, succulents, home made wooden crafts, crocheted baby items and haberdashery.

Plus don’t forget to bring your four legged friends aa there is stall with special food and treats.

Suffolk Market Events is a family run business founded in 2008 that delivers award-winning farmers’ markets, craft markets and food festivals across East Anglia. It works hard to ensure that nothing will have travelled further than 30 miles to be at each market, making sure its markets are genuinely local.

You can find out more about becoming a market trader here or email for more information.
